Three Bicycle Storage System Tips

A bicycle doesn’t look like much in terms of the space it takes up, but the mere form of it makes it extremely difficult to store. Leaning you bike up against a wall leaves the pedals, and more prominently the handlebars, protruding and this makes them prone to be knocked and caught by an unsuspecting passerby. Not only can this cause injury to people but more importantly it can cause damage to your pride and joy!

Finding a way to safely store you bicycle is essential to prolong the life of it and to prevent people from getting injured, one of the best ways to do this is to buy yourself a purpose designed bicycle storage system. Bike storage racks and systems can be categorized in to three main groups:

Ceiling mounted storage solutions shouldn’t be ignored though – if you have the budget and where you keep you bike has tall ceilings these ceiling mounted bike storage solutions can be ideal for the following reasons:

  • Hoisting your bike up takes no effort at all so everyone in your family would be able to use the system.
  • No floor space is taken up at all.
  • You bike is totally out of harms way – so it won’t get damaged an nobody will get injured.

A bike storage shed

A bicycle storage shed is the crème-de-la-crème of bike storage – you can keep multiply bikes in there and all of your cycling equipment, so it really is a great solution to keep you bikes safe and your home tidy. Unfortunately unless you have some outside space you are not going to be able to use this type of bike storage.
