Reusable hand warmer seem to be the “in” thing for this generation! They are useful little items. Everyone can probably use them at some time or another.
They are great for camping, hiking, skiing, ice skating, horseback riding, walking, roller skating, jogging, cleaning icy windshields, feeding animals on cold days, watching your favorite team win in the nearest stadium, parades and shopping.
They can be used by adults and children alike (with proper supervision, of course). Wouldn’t the kids love to have something to keep their hands warm while they are waiting for the bus on those cold Winter days? Stick one in their pocket!
There are several different types of these available these days. Some hand warmers can be reused by boiling the heaters or by boiling the pack itself, while others (though older) have special pockets for charcoal sticks. Some are activated by exposure to air, while others use lighter fluid or even a battery.
Hand warmers can be useful items when you’re cleaning the windshield on your car on an icy morning, when you’re out feeding animals in a blizzard, when you’re Christmas shopping, or even when you are just taking a stroll downtown to see the people and the lights and such.
Some types will keep your hands warm for 30 minutes, while other’s will keep your hands warm for 12-24 hours.
Some types are self regulating and others aren’t, so you need to be careful when you are buying them. It is VERY easy to think you are buying a type that won’t burn you, only to get it home to find out that it DOES burn you if it is too hot, or not applied properly.
And not only are they good to keep your hands warm, but some of them have adhesive strips on one side of them, so you can keep them in place when you use them on your lower back or in your shoes.
Kids complain of cold feet? Get them a set of hand warmers for their shoes, and there will be no more complaints about cold feet.
