Do you enjoy eating rice? Up until recently I did not. However if you do what I did and buy a Zojirushi rice cooker you may well find that eating rice is something that you can really get into. To use one of these kitchen appliances is actually really easy. This is what attracted me to them in the first place. I had always found making rice to be really difficult. In fact I did not really know how to make rice properly. The good news is, I now do not have to. My rice cooker does it all for me!
The only things that you as the user are responsible for are measuring out an appropriate quantity of rice to cook. This is easy because high quality Japanese rice cookers like Zojirushi, Sanyo and so on all come with measuring cups. The next step is to wash the rice. This helps to get rid of any excess starch. It is easy to wash the rice. All you have to do is add some water to the cooking bowl and swirl it around until the rice becomes wet. Then pour off the excess water until the rice only has a little water left. Then just gently mix the rice with your fingers. After 30 seconds or so you can add more water to help rinse away the “dirty” water. Repeat as many times as you like. Two or three is usually enough. Finally when your rice is washed you just add water to the appropriate water level mark, the one that corresponds to the number of cups of rice you added. That is it, the rice cooker will do the rest.
One of the best things about owning a Zojirushi rice cooker is that it makes great tasting rice. For me, this means that I will now eat out much less often and therefore save quite a bit of money. Even if you are already cooking for yourself regularly, a rice cooker may help to reduce your food costs even further. The rice itself is fairly cheap and you can easily use the cooker to make all in one dishes. Just add some vegetables and meat if you like, along with some herbs and spices or a great tasting mixed rice dish.
Buying a Zojirushi rice cooker can actually save you money in the long run. The rice the make tastes great and they are very easy to operate.
