Making money from Google isn’t rocket science.  It’s actually quite easy to understand the concepts involved in being successful, since Google’s been trying to help people get started making money online. That’s why they’ve created programs like AdWords and AdSense to help people get started in online advertising. That’s also why they allow website owners to submit their URL addresses directly to Google to be indexed and included with search results. The only unfortunate factor for those of us that want to make money Online with Google is that we need to do the work to see the results.

Submit Google is what some people call it when you submit your site to Google to try and get it indexed in the search engine. The thing is that this might not be the best way to start making money online. For one thing, it’ll only help you if you’ve got a website that’s already designed to make money.  That is, the only thing that getting indexed in Google is going to do is get you more viewers.  If you’re not already set up to make money off of those viewers, you’re really not going to get any revenue from it.

Another reason that submitting your site to Google might not be successful is more based on practicality.  Google has been notorious for taking a long time getting these sites indexed and up on result pages.  Besides the general slowness of the process, it’s just as easy to get your site onto their result pages yourself, the old-fashioned way (as old-fashioned as is possible when talking about online business, that is.)

Google’s web crawler finds relevant sites by following links on other sites; the more links are posted directing people to your site, the faster the GoogleBot is going to find you.  Also, the more links there are to your site, the more relevant the crawler is going to assume you are.  After all, if everyone’s citing you, you must be useful, right?  So the best way you can get posted on the search engine result pages is to put a lot of good, useful information on your site and make sure that other site owners know about you.  That way, you’ll be found and ranked by Google anyway – probably more effectively than if you’d spent that time waiting around for Google to do it for you.
