Anyone who works in an office (and consequently spends long hours sitting down) knows that the level of comfort that they experience whilst working is massively influenced by the quality of chair that they’re sitting on. In the same way that many New York cab drivers put a layer of beads over the back of their car seat to gradually massage their back as they drive, so too must office workers who spend countless hours sat behind a computer screen find ways to support their back whilst maintaining a level of comfort.
It seems that many companies have shifted towards using ergonomic office furniture recently, and mesh chairs are one of the most ergonomic and functional pieces of furniture that you can get. Herman Miller was certainly thinking ergonomically when he created his now world famous brand of Aeron mesh chairs (which are now thought of by many as the best office chairs on the market). The one downside to this kind of furniture is the price. The standard Aeron chair retails at over one thousand dollars, so it’s definitely not something for those on a small budget. Saying that, Aeron chairs are sold at a premium because they’re considered to be at the top end of the market, and it’s possible to get cheap office chairs (made from mesh) if you’re prepared to shop around or buy in bulk.
