When you are a young person, you can expect to pay way more for your car insurance than any person of mature age. The problem with young people, is that they are by nature way more risky in their behavior than older people. Older people also tend to have many more years of experience, which also helps in making driving safer. For that reason, insurance companies are going to charge young people more than mature persons. Especially when it comes to car insurance.
This situation is kind of ironic. Young people have to pay higher insurance costs than mature people, but they also have very little money. Young people who have just taken up driving, have usually just finished up their education. They are just starting out in the workforce. And like anybody else, they have to start at the bottom of the ladder. This means they make little money. The great thing about car insurance premiums is that they do get cheaper as the years go by. Provided that you drive safely and manage to prevent accidents on the road, ofcourse.
Some people choose to drive around without any insurance at all. Now this is a really bad idea. You may save money in the short run, but when you get pulled over by a cop for something insignificant such as forgetting to signal when turning, you’re going to get caught. Your license and registration will be checked. The computer will show the officer that you are uninsured. This means you’ll pay a hefty fine. It’s best to avoid this if possible. Just make sure you get your insurance so you can feel safe while driving.
The cheapest form of car insurance out there, is the so called 20/40/10 insurance. This policy will cover medical bills and car damages. The 20 and the 40 stand for $20,000 and $40,000 respectively. This means the maximum amount of medical bills covered, is $40,000, with a maximum of $20,000 per person. The remaining $10,000 will cover property damages. But please keep in mind that this insurance does not cover you, personally. It only covers the other party’s car and passengers!
