Are you about to start with a new exercise program? If you have already passed your 40th milestone, then you are absolutely doing the right thing, despite what most people at such an age would believe. I have a few points and considerations you will find beneficial in your quest to get fit over 40, whatever your inspiration.
a) Find your motivation and believe in it. Life is not short, the healthier you live it, the longer you will live it. The best way to live healthy other than eating right and observing right lifestyles is exercising to keep your body organs at their best for as long as possible.
b) It is not about how long or how frequently you exercise but what exercises you do and how intensely you need to do them. It will pay off doing high intensity exercises for 30 to 40 minutes a day, three times a week than doing low intensity exercises for hours every day of the week.
c) Get a very good exercise program that you will use to exercise. This is important because different people exercise for different reasons and these reasons determine what kinds of workouts are best for them. You should choose the right workout program based on your physical and health status, age, motivation and timeframe you have to achieve your desires.
d) Although you may go for exercises that you think are best for you, it is important that you get support and combine your exercises with other significant exercises like strength training for women over 50 that may not be necessarily a part of your workout.
e) Some of the exercises you should focus on include aerobic, cardiovascular, strength and weight training. Most of these exercises start low and their intensity increase with time as the muscles get stronger and more conditioned.
