Many home owners and avid television watchers are turning their focus onto the newer LCD models. LCD is short for Liquid Crystal Display and they are a thin television that offers a display of brighter pictures and better sound quality than that of other devices.
Many owners of the newer LCD flat panel televisions like having the option of attaching them to a wall. Since LCD televisions are lighter than older model televisions attaching them to the wall is almost as easy as hanging a picture. Of course larger LCD televisions will require more than one person to hang them but even then it is still a pretty easy process.
LCD TV wall mounts are sold in many department stores with various price tags. Many different manufacturers have jumped onto the wall mount wagon so there are plenty of choices available to the buyer.
There are wall mounts that have attached pivoting arms. These arms allow the owner to move the LCD screen in different positions for better viewing possibilities. The arms can also allow for moving the television away from the wall and mount. These are typically called full motion wall mounts and carry a higher price bracket in wall mounts.
Low profile wall mounts are on the lower end of the mounts available. They are pretty standard as far as a wall mount goes. The low profile mount is a bracket that holds the LCD television up on the wall and does not have the ability to move once the television is placed. Since these are the most basic of the wall mounts they are also the cheapest ones on the market.
The tilting wall mount does just that, it tilts. After placing the LCD television onto the mount the owner can adjust the television but it does not give as many viewing options as the full motion wall mount does. The cost for the tilting wall mount is basically in the middle between low profile and the full motion mounts.
Peerless Industries has also put their mark in LCD wall mounts. They have an in wall mount available for the bigger LCD televisions. These mounts come with two brackets and are meant to be attached to two studs. Since most walls are 16 inches apart the makers of this wall mount specify that those are the two studs used when installing these. These wall mounts cost a pretty penny and run quite a bit higher in price than the others.
