Making coffee in the morning using traditional brewing methods can be a time consuming process. And on most occasions, you don’t have the time to brew a full pot! We’ve seen French presses, the percolator, espresso machines, and a variety of automatic drip brewers. While all of those range in convenience and quality, none come close to the experience offered by the coffee pod machine.
What exactly is a coffee pod? A coffee pod, often called a “k-cup,” is pre-ground coffee conveniently packed into a small, sealed single-serving cup. This cup is then put into a special brewer for k-cups, which will brew a perfect cup of coffee in minute’s time.
There are a wide variety of k-cups available to the consumer. In fact, as k-cups increase in popularity, more and more coffee companies are starting to produce k-cups of everyone’s favorite flavors!
Just how convenient is a k-cup? Imagine not having to go to the grocery store and buy large bags of different coffee beans. Not only that, but since the coffee inside k-cups are pre-ground, the need to grind coffee beans is completely eliminated with k-cups! Not only that, but the cost of large bags makes it difficult for the entire family to decide upon one flavor of coffee. But with small k-cups, everybody can have the flavor of coffee that they want. Plus, k-cups are small in size, allowing for compact, convenient storage.
However, a k-cup cannot be brewed in a typical coffee maker. Instead, k-cup brewers must be purchased. The most popular brand of k-cup brewers is Keurig, which can make many sizes of delicious coffee in a matter of minutes. The Keurig brewer also boils and measures water automatically, so the brewing process is as easy as turning it on, selecting your size and pressing a button. There are also a variety of other k-cup brewers on the market, such as the Senseo; whose water reservoir is larger than that of the Keurig brewer.
K-cups and their brewers make brewing coffee easy and convenient, and are a fantastic investment for any coffee drinker.
