If you are considering getting a central vacuum cleaner instead of a traditional vacuum cleaner for your home, there are various points that you should keep in mind.  You want a vacuum cleaner that is suitable to your needs and that you will enjoy operating.  Like any product, central vacuum cleaners come in many shapes and sizes and have different features. Looking at the following tips should assist you when you are looking at different types of central vacuum cleaners.

  • Before you shop for a central vacuum system, be aware of the specifications and size of your own home, or proposed home.  Different systems have different strengths and while you want a system that is strong enough, you do not want to have to pay an excessive amount for a central vacuum cleaner that you do not really need.

  • Many central vacuum system manufactures supply a range of accessories with their systems.  These accessories vary greatly with each manufacturer so you should study the accessories available with each brand and model and bear them in mind when you are making your decision.
  • It pays to get a long, lightweight hose for your vacuum system.  As this is the item you will be carrying around with you throughout your home it is important that it should be of good quality and light to carry.
  • When you are purchasing your central vacuum cleaner, it is very advisable to consider the cost of the system, but to also weigh this up with other performance features such as filtration, strength of suction, the range of accessories available and other factors.  The cheapest system will not always be the best.
  • Central vacuum cleaners have a long life and it is very advisable that you spend some time ensuring that you get the correct one for your needs.
