In the same way that it is important to change your break pads or refill your gas tank with gas, it is important that you also change the strings for your Ibanez acoustic electric guitar. One way to tell if you need to replace the strings is to simply look at them! Are they worn out?

Maybe they are a little rusty? Or worse yet, maybe you are missing some strings! If you answered yes to any of these questions, then its time for you to replace your strings with something more suitable for someone of your talents. Before doing that though, there are a few things you need to ask yourself.

Firstly, if you play your Ibanez acoustic guitar a lot, it is suggested that you change them every 2 weeks. However, you can probably get away with replacing them once every month if you are on a budget. Just be sure that if you are going to a show or something “live” that you change your strings before then.

It would really stink if you were in the middle of playing a set and the strings broke then! When buying strings for your Ibanez electric guitar you need to consider the type to buy. All brands and manufacturers aside, first you need to make sure you buy electric guitar strings!

These strings are specifically made for electric guitars like the Ibanez. Another thing to consider is the thickness of the strings. This is all about personal preference and what you feel most comfortable with. Usually a thicker string will sound better, but they are also harder to use.

If you are not sure which one you would like better, visit your local guitar store and ask to try a few Ibanez acoustic electric guitars out with various strings to see which one you like better! For brands, it is always best to stick to the brands we know and love such as Elixir, Fender, Dean Markley, etc.

Again, this depends on you, but brand names always seem to have the best quality strings when it comes to me buying them for my own guitar!
