Be Careful Using Perfumes

Perfume was originated from the royal family in France in the 18th century. This implies the luxurious nature of perfume. Perfumes with high quality are made from natural plant extracts like lemon essential oil and frankincense. Improper uses of fragrances (especially those with low quality) pose harmful effects on human bodies.

The first rule is never to wear too much perfume. Wearing too much perfume is definitely an offending habit to people surrounding you. It is also no good to your health. For a perfume, it may contain as many as 500 different chemicals. Though without official researches, these chemicals may lead to birth defects, cancers, and central nervous system disorders. If the scent can be detected more than a meter, it is already too much.

The essences and alcohols contained in perfumes may have harmful effects on skin under the UV radiations. For example, it may causes pigmentation on your skin. Therefore, it is important not to apply perfume on body areas that are easily exposed to UV light. You may apply perfume on collars and sleeves instead.

Fragrance is designed to mix with your natural body smell to give a personal and attractive scent. It is not designed to cover any disgusting smells from your body. Therefore, it should only be applied to clean body. Otherwise, the strong fragrance may combine with your sweat to form another disgusting smell.

Fragrances from different brands are made with different chemicals. In addition, each fragrance has its own unique scent. You should not use several different brands of perfume at the  same time. This may be harmful to your skin and at the same time produce an unpleasant smell.

Though preservatives are added to most perfumes, you still need to pay attention to their expiry date. Besides, keep your fragrance away from heat and sun light as some of the perfume is inflammable.
